The Rhine in Arnhem
Arnhem comes from Arentheem, the home of the eagle (local dialect : Ăˆrnem, German : Arnheim, Latin : Arenacum). Green forests around Arnhem and many city parks gave it the name Green city on the Rhine and Park City.
At Arnhem the Rhine divides in Nederrijn and Ijssel, the Nedderijn flowing to the west and the Ijssel to the north.
